Travis, Sing

I’m glad you’ve posted some more interesting videos here :)
Anyway, I came across this one about two years ago, when my friend was making a PowerPoint presentation about Travis for her IT class.

What connects the video to the song is singing, as there is an element of performance – the band playing on TV. But the main plot tells us about the band members going by bikes to an upper-class party.
When they finally get to the place, the rich people are slightly surprised (it isn’t clear to me why, because of the guys’ improper looks or maybe the fact that they weren’t invited?). When the dinner begins and the waiters bring lavish dishes, our mid-class friends cannot deal with the food. It literally escapes from their plates and land on the faces of the rich. This leads to a food fight, as they want revenge for getting dirty. Finally, the fight goes the whole hog and everyone including the cook ends up covered in various delicacies.

All in all, I consider this video very amusing, especially the slow motion when an octopus flies all the way from one end of the table to the other just to land on a man’s head. My opinion is: good band, pleasurable song and a hilarious video!

PS. I know, I know, I’ve exceeded the limit, but it’s quite a hard job to squeeze your thoughts into 100 words when you have so much to tell the world :)

The Verve - Bittersweet Symphony
I'm not a fan of Pop music but i really enjoy that one.I like the element of classic music (violin) in this song .I think the lyrics are about behaviour of artist. It is connected with video, for example when he push a passer-by man .He is telling a vision of his world ,that it has no mercy. The world is "Bitter Sweet Symphony" this oxymoron says that our world is changeable. Our Singer is presented as a rebel and he is singing that he can't change.
I think that's all i want to say about this video.PS:i'm glad that is not another song about Love :P

Coldplay

It is a beautiful story with really intense lyrics with the sentimental meaning I think this song is about someone who percieves the world in a logical way. He tries to apply this logic to the relationship:

‘‘I was just guessing at numbers and figures
Pulling your puzzles apart
Questions of science; science and progres’’

So, the woman broke off with him. Finally, after a separation he understood ‘’the whole idea about love’’. He has discovered a few mistakes in his life: that affection cannot be calculate, that logic and common sense cannot be relate with love. Main character is sorry about things he's done in the past. Certainly he wants to try again with her ! He relised that he must improve himself, he must enrich his life and his heart. The character must not forget about spiritual world because it is important part of people’s life.

Personally I think that video clip is closely connected with the songs. It showes the man who tells us the true story about love. He instructed us in the use of the ‘’hearts”.

This song calms me down and makes me sad. I think it is just one of the most touching songs ! This is the most beautiful Coldplay ‘s song.

Coldplay ‘The Scientist’
I agree with Dagny, that videos are more interesting and I think that the songs are quite popular (at least I know them well ;). But I think that ‘the scinentist’ is the most interesting video (and one of my favorites songs)
This song is of course about love or rather about powerlessness in the face of love. His relationship split up and now he feel guilty. He know that he made a lot of mistakes and he wants to go back to the past and start everything again. Maybe there is no direct connection between the song and video but the one line of the text perfect suits the clip – ‘I’m going back to the start’. And this is what we actually see – the main character (Chris Martin, the lead vocalist of Coldplay) is walking in reverse through a city, suburbs and finally a forest. Then we see a girl who is lying on the ground and broken car. We find out that there was an accident and the car slid down from the road.
I remember when I saw this clip for the first time. I and my cousin were staring at the TV screen and we couldn’t figure out how it is possible to do something like that – the action was reverse but Chris Martin was singing the song properly. Now I know that he had to sing the song backwards. It cost him a lot of effort but it paid off. This clip won an MTV Video Music Award for the best group video in 2003! It was a great success because British music usually isn’t popular in US.

The Verve - Bittersweet Symphony

I didn't suppose that I've found here one of my favourite song: The Verve - Bittersweet Symphony. I'm very happy about that. This song was very popular a few years ago and I believe that many of students linking this tune with TV commercial. Anyway as a previous commentators said I also like violin motif. I think that this makes Bittersweet Symphony such a amaizing song. In the beginning you can hear something very soft then slowly you feel depth of music. Certainly lyrics and video's plot are orginall too. The guy just walking straight and knocking anything in his way. He does not stop and does not look back.
All this things show how disoriented us humans are.
I like this song and the video cause it is so simple:)
Rating: 5 * * * * *

I saw three wideoclips and I really like the second Coldplay's wideo because it is song about love and it is of course the nicest song themes.
The sing tells us about man who regret thereof what he made in the past. He wants to change every his mistake with his loves girl. He wants to hear about his girl love and start with her again.
In the clip man and his gilfriend came back to the past and I think that they have a chance to change their life and their relationships. And I think that they understand that love is more important things in their life.
The song and clip enjoed me very much and now I am watching this clip everytime.

The Verve - Bittersweet Symphony

I don't litsen to Pop music but I very like this song.I like this violin moment too as previous commentators said.Richard Ashcroft in this song shows his vision of life. He tell that world is a 'Bitter Sweet Symphony' as Łukasz said because it always change. Not always we are so happy, not always we are so sad. We've got some different, difficult moments on our life but it makes our life more colorful.

I heard this song in the radio many time but I didn't turn one's attention to it because I don't prefer this type of music. Anyway I think that the song is quite popular because it used to be applied in many films and television advertisements. This video clip has rather sad character. We can see the man who walks stright, he prodes other people and he doesn't look at them.In addition, he looks like he is a rebel against the world. He doesn't want the such world where the peolpe are still busy themselves but he can't change it. Certainly the lyrics are connected with the video. Personally I think that the words of the song and the video clip show our reality life.

Coldplay - The Scientist

Personally, I think that it is a wonderful song which is full of emotions.
In the video clip we can see a man who is lying on mattress, he is singing about love. The main character is in love but as it turns out he and his girlfriend cannot be together... Their relationship belongs to the past. That makes he feels sad and depressed. He is looking back on his past to know what he did wrong. He thinks that he has learnt a life lesson and now he knows how much he needs her. He feels guilty because he sets her apart. Now he wishes it did not happend. What is more, he wants to go back to the start but now he is going to be a better person. The man explains that some better and worse things must happen in life ("nobody said it was easy...")but they have to be strong and be together against problems. He thinks that he was wrong when he tried to understand love-now he decided to listen to his heart because as he said "science and progress do not speak as laud as my heart".
All in all, I like this song very much desfite of the fact that it is sad and makes me melancholy. I think that everyone can identify with this song because many times we wish that something had not happen.

The Coldplay- The Scientist

The Coldplay is one of my favourite band and I love this video and this song.I think an inspiration for the director of this video were the words:"I take you back to the start." That is the main reason why the video is in the other way, we watch it from the end not the beginning. Whole video is rewinded and that gives an amazing effect. The song is about a guy who lost his girlfriend and want to turn the clocks back and change everything what was bad between them. Thanks to the vido song gets a deeper meaning because the girlfriend died in the car accident and her boyfriend want to save her.I think the director in very interesting way connected the song with the visualistion. In my opinion it is a untypical idea to make a video to such a typical love song.

I'm not a huge fan of this kind of music but I found here a couple of songs which I know and which I like. The song "Sing" the lead single from Travi's 3rd album is quite good.It also has hilarious video especially the food fight but i think that the video got nothing to do with the song.I also read about the spanish version of this song but I have never heard it.Actually if it's going about Travis I like the song which is not mentin here.It is the song "I kissed the Girl".
One of the songs which is also ok is "Smile" by Lily Allen. The clip shows Lily gettnig revenge on her ex-boyfriend who cheated on her and she feels very happy about that.
All in allmost of this clips I have never seen before but I actually enjoyed them.

I must say that I enjoy several of these videos but the most one is The Verve~Bittersweet Symphony. This song reminds me some situations, events, which took place in my life. In spite of overwhelming mood and huge dose of human's vanities from the lyrics,I like the melody of the violin. There is also a film, unfortunately, I can't remember the title, which I associate with this song:) The melody makes listeners to think deeper and deeper about life how often it turns into mould beacause of our fault, humans fault...

The Verve - Bittersweet Symphony

I think it's cool song. Especially this violin solo. I don't like this type of music, but this is really masterpiece. It's first time i see this video, but music is very characteristic. I heard that few times. In this video main character ignored other people. Whole video is in a bit grey colours. But that build climate of this song. I like it.

The Verve ''Bitter sweet symphony''

I'm fan of different kind of music but i'm glad that you have posted this video. I really like it. This song is rather sad. The singer tries to tell us about his point of view about today world. He doesn't like this system, that people think about money all the time and he would like to change himselves, maybe all the world, but he can't.

We can see that the song is connected with the video. The singer is going through the street of big city. This city is grey and dirty, propably like the singer's life. He doesn't care about people in the street, he pushes them all the time.

I like violin motif in this song, it makes it very special. I would like to hear more this band's songs.

First up, Travis – Sing
I don’t have my music definite and I don’t really like listening music. So it is difficult for me to describe one of this song. But I decided to put comment on “First up, Travis – Sing”. In my opinion the song is not interesting for me but the videoclip is more funny especially the monkey. What is more the weird dinner caught my attention when the guests started to throw the meals to each other. And also the men on the bikes were one of the major characters in that teledisk. In addition don’t realise what is the link between this song and videoclip

I think that the ‘bittersweet song ‘appeals to me the most because it shows how difficult and strange our life can be. Life is everlasting struggle with adversities accompanied by desire to make money. Unfortunately, it is usually too late when we realize that money is not the most important. The most sad is however that we cannot change anything in our life and in other people. It is difficult to live without bothering about money, impossible to live without problems. This is the bitter part of our life, but there is also a sweet one that keep us alive. In the video clip the main character shows indifference to society. He doesn’t pay attention to other people, he feels alone and angry because he cannot change anything and no one understands him so why should he bother? Nonetheless our life is like a symphony- full of different tones, and maybe that is why we still want to experience and discover more and more... :)mysteriousXXX

I saw "Bitter sweet symphony" by The Verve and I must admit I really like it. The song is a bit boring but the video is very interesting. Richard Ashcroft is waliking down the street and trying to talk with passers - by but nobody want to listen. No one pays attention to his ... sometimes very cruisial words...
